Once upon a time in the fall of 1999, there was a Metal guy named Brecht. He was real cool and enjoyed drumming more than anything in the world.

At the same time there were two unbelievable cool metal dudes: Pol and Wine (read [ween] not [wain]). All day long they played the guitar. The coincidence wants that these two Metal dudes met Brecht at a too crazy Birthday party of another dude. They talked about the butterflies and the bees, about Metal and playing their instruments. Then it happened: They decided to talk off and get together to play Metal preferably something like Thrash. It was an interesting thought of going to play together so the dobbelstone was thrown and they came together in "Het Kot".

But still they were not complete they had to find a Metal voice and a bassist.
The voice was found in the extremely cool and very brave Metal lad Wouter. Now they could begin with creating and playing their own songs. In this period of time the succesfull radio donna number one hit Pyroman was written.
(Actually Pyroman is:
a) the name of an evil god who burns people at night and
b) the former band name and
c) a former name of Briquet-man.)

After visiting "Het kot"a few times a dude who played with Brecht in the past joined the pyroman team and started playing the bassguitar. His name was Deef. .

Some time passed by and many other very succesfull songs like: Disease, They'll die on The Cross, Thrashed To The Bone and Electronic madness (now schizophrenic madness ) were written by this evil quintet.

Meanwhile the name Pyroman changed into VIGGEN because we all thought it was a better name.
Viggen is:
a) a Swedish word for lightning and
b)the name fits our kind of music according to ourselves.)
Viggen played their first gig at their home base Pumpkeskal on the 28th September 2001 And is today full throttle busy with creating other songs and touring around the region.

So the saga continues...

New chapter : In the summer of 2002, Deef parted ways with viggen, and since decent bassplayers don't grow on trees here, we've been without until fall 2002, when we met Kristoff, who fitted right in with our style of playing. He played some fine basslines until somewhere in 2006 when he left, and got replaced by another very fine bassplayer, Raf.
